I know this is about like pulling teeth asking personal preference questions like this and I apologize ahead of time, but here goes.

Assuming that you could get each scope for approximately the same price, which would you go for, the Leupold Mk4 6.5-20x50 TMR or the Sightron SIII 6-24x50 MD?

The rifle that it would be going on is a 5R that will be used only for target shooting.

    Thanks in advance.

Sightron SIII if you can find one. Better glass and tracking. Make sure it is not the old model SIII which is inferior the the new model.

you can order the sightron from Scott at Liberty Optics. you will have to wait a couple of weeks to get it. He speaks very highly of them over any other scope in that price range and many that are well above it.

If you can live without the exposed tactical turrets and illumination, Sightron SIII.

Our first batch is *finally* shipping to us today!!!

100MOA of travel, a fine mildot reticle suitable for target use, great optics, mechanics, fit and finish and 100% made in Japan help Sightron get the nod. It's $350 less than the Mark 4 too. That's a lot of scratch. Awesome service too.

I will say that if you can get the MK4 for about the same price you are getting a helluva deal though.

I was wondering the same thing but for the Leupold Mark 4 3-9x36 MR/T and the Sightron 3.5-10x44 SIII. dont want to stomp or try to take over the thread but would like to get some input/opinions.
