No help to the rest of us. Just Duh.................... A Texas man injured two people and himself after he accidentally fired his handgun Monday night while standing on line at a Walmart store, police said.
MyFoxDFW.com reported that the suspect, who was not identified, accidentally fired his gun while he reached into his wallet at the Dallas-area store. The bullet hit the man in the buttock and shattered on the ground. Fragments hit a child in the leg and a woman in the foot, the report said. The suspect, who has a concealed handgun license, apparently panicked and took off running, but was soon caught by police.
He faces evasion charges and injury to a child.

Re: Another reason to avoid Wal-Mart

So he managed to shoot himself in the ass, hit a kid, a woman, and also got arrested for running (with a bullet wound in the butt).

Bet he didn't wake up expecting the day to end like that!

Re: Another reason to avoid Wal-Mart

Yet again another example of why I say DA/SA guns carried hammer down and with a manual safety on are way way less likely to ruin your day that a gun with a "safe trigger that only goes off if you pull it"

Re: Another reason to avoid Wal-Mart

I hope those injured are ok very sad for them. This is terrible for all of us. I am interested to hear the full story and what he was carrying. Sucks sucks sucks for everyone but the antigun animals. PG

That's my reasoning too. Even with a holster with a trigger guard I carry DA/SA(no safety, the HK DA trigger is damn heavy) for this reason. I doubt this guy even had a holster, most of the time someone shoots themselves "reaching for a wallet" it's because they've just got it shoved in their waist band.

I much prefer, Always keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot, rather than blaming the weapon.

I concur.

Does anyone outside of the saggy pants crowd actually think that "shoved in their waist band" is a legit carry method? Who trains these people and cuts them lose on the streets pretending they're in any way a help to anyone?

Re: Another reason to avoid Wal-Mart

I'm not going to kick his carry weapon (anything is better than nothing) but this is a PRIME reason for anyone to spend the extra money for the best holster they can afford. Also the buy once/cry once does apply as I have Milt Sparks holsters that I have had for years of daily carry that are still secure, very comfortable, and no one has ever known that I am carrying.
