Anschutz 1517 D

I have a beavertail stock version of the 1517, bought slightly used here on the Hide this past spring. It is a VERY accurate rifle, holding around 3/4 moa or less at 100yds in my single outing I've been able to take it on. I was shooting CCI 17gr V-MAX loads, all I was able to get my hands on when I picked it up a few months ago, and put about 150 rounds through it. It currently has a SWFA 3-15x42 on it, and I'm looking to put a new Steiner M5Xi 3-15x on it when those come out. Just for fun I put two dozen 12/20ga shotgun hulls up on the 100yd target board, and only had two misses as I went through them all. The single stage trigger is very crisp, as one would expect from Anschutz. I'm more fond of the two stage on my 1710, but coming from a lot of Remington shooting time, the trigger compares well to my tuned M40A1 or 40x.

Unlike other Anschutz rimfires, you can cut down the barrel on these with no ill effect to your accuracy because they're rifled like a standard centerfire bore. The two downsides I've found to them is magazines and the stock comb. Mags are expensive and only hold four rounds, and a built up cheek rest is necessary for mounting a typically centerfire scope onto it.

If you find one at a good price and want to lay hate on small critters at a fair distance, I highly recommend it.
