So I have seen magazine sleds that allow you to load one round at a time in a bolt action. I have a Anschutz 1517 in 17hmr. I see they make an adapter for 22 lr. I was wondering if anyone out there new where I could get one for a 17hmr. I lost a magazine in the field last year hunting groundhogs. I want to be about to put something in the gun and leave it there.

I asked Anschutz NA the same question, and no they do not make a single shot sled for the 17hmr. Your best bet is to either have one made by a machinist, modify a mag yourself by grinding down the feedlips, or learn to single load with the mag in place. I find it pretty easy to single load with a regular magazine. The two machinists I was referred to by members of rim fire central both wanted big $ to make a single shot adapter. I’ve toyed with the idea of making one myself. But I don’t currently have the time.
