My new Anschutz 64 MPR arrived and it time to start buying accessories. First, what is the best way to mount a Harris Bipod. Second, is the harris the best for this type of gun or should I look at using another brand. I have only used Harris but am willing to try a quality bipod.
Third, I noticed the plastic bolt knob and want to order a steel piece but was wondering how easy it is to remove the factory one?
Final question are there any other cool items or upgrades for these rifles that I can look into.
Thanks again for helping out a new Anschutz shooter, Tom

This is my only Anschutz, and here is how I did it. Works good for me this way. Dip mount/base, NF ultra light rings because they were already here, Tac Ops cheeck pad because it feels really good on my face instead of sliding around on the wood in the summer, and the Harris bipod works paerfectly fine for me. The rifle already had the stud for the bipod from the factory.

Diversified Innovative Products - Products - Anschutz: is a good source for the rail and bolt knob.

To attach a Harris style you will want a #6 adapter:

Atlas are really nice bipods but $$$ and I believe only attach via a picatinny rail or Qd mount. That is not the easiest method of attaching to an Anz with it's full accessory rail.

I guess I got lucky in that mine brought the stud. The Leupold is a 6.5-20X with a varmint reticle. I didn't buy it for this rifle, but it was on another rifle I use to own. The only bitch I have for this rifle is the fact that I/we have to modify the extractor to get it to work properly with all ammo. Piss poor from a great company like Anschutz to keep putting this rifle out and not admitting the problem. Here's a short video of waht I'm talking about. It's frustrating to no end. I have found that it does it less with uncoated ammo such as Eley. Wolf is great ammo, but feels like they coat it in snot.
