Fellas,
I am in a little bit of a crisis over here in Afghanistan. I am currently a PMC working on a DOD contract. The contract was recently renewed and because of an oversight in the drafting we have been instructed to turn in our NODs and cannot sign them back out. This is a huge issue for me. We spend most of our time flying out to the few remaining outposts. I spend a lot of time walking the mountains at night, as well as riding in birds. It is stupid because I still have my weapons sights and laser devices...
I cannot afford to drop 7 Grand on a pair of Binocular NVDs but these are the ideal sets I need. I have used the 14s for most of my career in the Army and after being issued 15s I cannot imagine going back to do a single device with the work that I am doing now.
I have the opportunity to purchase a set of ANVIS 6s , brand new with the battery pack minus image tubes for $1000. I have searched the internet for info on tubes but am having difficulty finding any clear answers on what/where to buy. Would this even be a cost effective way to get these things in action?
I could probably drop 4000 total on the whole set up... I know that I will need to buy a ground helmet mount also, I am not including that in the price over here and Will have to purchase it later.
TL;DR Version
1. I have the chance to buy ANVIS 6s what tubes would work with these?
2. Would this be a cost effective way to get nods in my hands and operational?
3. I have a budget of about 4000 dollars but am trying to stay away from a monocular.
4. Thanks
Thanks in Advance guys, I know I am new and this is my first post..... I hate asking for a bunch of favors right of the bat. Thank you though.
Adam
