Are there any other companies making bare ghillie suits that have the 550 cord sewn on like the Mamba? I used to make my own but I have gotten lazy, however I am still on a budget and the Mamba is pricey. Not sure what the police price might be though. So any others that you all can recommend that I should look at. Thanks

Re: Any alternatives to Mamba ghillie

I know SO Tech makes a ghillie similar to the Web-Tex qhillie issued to British snipers. Comes in Coyote color only though and is like $225.
The Web-Tex is usually less than $100 shipped from the UK to the USA.

i'd say just about any seamstress would be willing to tack a 550cord grid on for you and for a faction of the cost. i know outside of Camp Pendleton you can pick up a three piece ghillie (no jute) for under $100. If I ever make another one thats what i plan on doing.

That being said there are a few members here that have a reputation for making great ghillies. Just look around and search for buy a ghillie or something and i'm sure you'll find them.

Re: Any alternatives to Mamba ghillie

there is no equal to the mamba, but if you need a bare suit with paracord attachments, london bridge trading offers a bdu-based suit for a couple hundred less. it's no mamba, but it is definately a dependable piece of gear.

if you are on a budget, but need a high quality, professional suit put together, you'd be hard pressed to find a better guy than sierra whiskey.
