My nieces husband is in the Air Force and just got posted to Lakenheath.

I'm thinking about visiting next year. Between March and November what's the best time to visit Great Britain? I have 2 non tourist locations I'd like to visit, my families ancestral home in Madresfield and Islay in Scotland. What would the best way to travel from Lakenheath to these 2 locations?

Best time to visit would be between May and September.

As for the mode of travel from Lakenheath, I'll come back to you on that one. Used to be an airbase, but I don't know if it still is....
