Minus durability and tracking (I'm familiar in those regards)...do any of you own a 4200 Tactical -AND- a NF or Leupold Mark 4 and want to give an honest clarity comparison between the two? What I am most interested in is a comparison of chromatic aberration between the two. I own a couple lesser Leupolds (Mark AR and VX-III) and have shot through many Mark 4's, but I have never had the opportunity to actually sit down and compare the differences between the two during dusk and long range. To my eyes, it seems the VX-III and 4200's are VERY close..perhaps close enough for it to be simply a subjective toss up. I just wanted to see if I could acquire some unbiased opinions.

Hopefully I won't get neutered asking such a question.

for the money i think bushnell make pretty good scopes.

chromatic aberration is over my head but i own both a NF and 4200 and there is no comparison, comparing a Mk4 to my NF , i'd say mk4 has similar clarity

i hear leupold has a good warranty , i know NF doesnt have much of a warranty but do offer repair services, that might be a factor on your decision making

but you know on a hot day you'll never really get good clarity.

I've got a 4200 Tactical and a NF NXS and I would agree that there is not a huge difference but it is noticable IMO. During the day I can see the target better with less magnification with the NF. At the end of the day, I was able to see the target better and shoot longer with the NF. Others that I was shooting with stopped shooting my rifle with the 4200 because they couldn't see the target well enough but they could shoot the NF rifle for about another 20 mins.
