Night Vision Any information on Armasight CO MG MR

I've got this older armasight clip on, it says it's a gen II+. It seems like a solid unit, I've shot with it once or twice. Has anyone used one of these? It seems older and I cant find a lot of info online about this one.

The big thing I'm looking for is, the mount is pretty junky, are there any companies that make better qd mounts?

Any tips for running this unit? I shot with it once at night unsuppressed and it turned off, I'm guessing the muzzle blast was too bright. How far should I expect to this at night accurately? (Can see up to a couple hundred with an IR light)

Gen2+ all depends on what tube there using in it ? . Get some IR , and dont shoot without suppressed as you not doing any tube justice by sensor overload .
I used a Armasight clip-on Gen2+ several years ago out coyote hunting, with a Photonis tube and it was actually pretty good performance with it's Big Catadioptric Obj. lens .

I've got a 16.5" r700 aac that I'm dropping into a krg W3, I hope to use that going forward with the clip on. I just need to get it all set up and figure out a good way to mount the NV. The built in mount feels really flimsy, and I don't like the objective lens mount, that's my biggest issue.

How much accuracy can I expect to lose throwing the clip on in front of the optic? Meaning, I'm sure I can't line the optic and NV up perfectly, will that throw off my poa/poi?

Perfect alignment not that critical. Just use scope ring height to get as close a possible to your clip-on's center of it ocular lens as you can get.
You need to mount the Clip-on in the same position/same Rail slot, every time for best repeatable POI results .
To learn what the Clip-on's collimation negative ( if any ? ) ,is to your rifle and scopes POA . Only way your going to check accuracy and repeatable accuracy is to mount it and go out and shot it a lot . With also removing and then reattaching the Clip-on over and over again to see if any negative with the units mount and gain familiarity .

There was an better quality aftermarket QD mount for the Armasight Clip-on I was using, and I had it, but I have no idea where to get one anymore .

What SC said. Get a good IR light and the Armasights do ok. The CO LR unit will be better suited and the quick silver/ white units had a little more range capability i felt. The units that we had in where the co-x and co lr and both held repeatable accuracy and POI shifts. Ive felt that accuracy with clip NV was held to how well you could see the target. Even at 100 with those units was tough to hold on a real small dot. I thought the original ones came with AMD mounts, and the they switched later to there own made mounts. For what its worth in general shooting, Armasights IR 850 light was pretty good.

I'm pretty poor, so I've got the NV that I've got. I guess I'll just keep looking around for a decent mount and I'll be good to go.

It might workout good with the mount you have and be GTG hunting with it . It not going to get that abused to break because you probably hiking out to your stand and mounting clip-on there, and taking it off and putting back in the pack to hike out in the dark.
I take my clip-on off everytime when hiking in and out of calling stands . just use the lazer and pvs14 on helmet if happen to have something popup hiking in and out .

( if were me ) , I would just get it out and start shooting with it before making ay decisions, get comfortable and gain confidence in it's mechanics putting your shot where you aiming at . Take Off/On a lot .
I just went out today and re-checked day scope zero, then with mounting and removing NV several times, taking 2 shots each time I remount to reconfirm my NV was slaved to the rifles POI . You just have to do that routinely to have peace of mind you killing what you aim at at night with a clip-on .
