I am looking at my first suppressor and I am considering the Kodiak TL from Liberty suppressors. Mainly because the place is very close to my home and I can go to his shop. Primarily interested in a .22 can but was wondering if there was a can that would do both .22 and .223?

Suggestions or comment are greatly appreciated. I am a new member here but have been lurking for awhile. Lots of knowledge here and I am looking for some guidance through some uncharted ground for me....

thanks
shane

Re: any Liberty Kodiak users here

it's my understanding that a can that's stout enough to hold up to .223 will be overly bulky on a .22lr.

.22lr is nasty. whatever can you get for .22lr save yourself some headaches and get one that comes apart. I don't know that there's many .223 cans that come apart.

.223 is hell on a can. most .223 cans are fully welded to help them stay together.

Re: any Liberty Kodiak users here

Thanks for the info Luvman.

The Kodiak comes apart and it is NOT rated for .223...
a link to it here: http://www.libertycans.net/KodiakTL.html

What I was looking for was maximum bang for my buck. Like I said, I am new to suppressors. I shot alot of .22 and practice with my .223, knowing what I know about the projectile size I was hoping to double dip and get one can that could handle both. I realize that the pressures of .223 are MUCH greater.

I am open to more suggestions and appreciate any and all input.
thanks

Liberty makes a great product and their customer service is excellent. David and Teresa are really great people...
I would jump at the Kodiak...full auto rated...will work on 22,22mag,17hmr and 5.7...cans come apart for cleaning..and most importantly they suppress very well...

Re: any Liberty Kodiak users here

Also looking at the constitution which is rated for a .223 but won't work well on pistols so I am told...

was about to buy a SWR Spectre but was stepped on a gopher hole and tore up my knee....I think I am bout to spend my Suppressor money on knee surgery.....a can would be alot more fun!
