Any LMT owners w/dual ejector bolt here? Question

I have an LMT-MWS .308 with the new style dual ejector bolt. I was wondering if anyone else here has the new style bolt? My new factory replaced bolt requires significant (about 20+ lbs) effort to extract/un-stick a live round from the chamber with any brand of ammo (FGMM, Hornady match, Black Hills and LC ball). We are NOT talking about normal rear extraction of a 308 buffer spring as compared to a 223. The round "sticks" is the best way I can describe it.

I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this situ with the dual ejector bolt.

Yes I have returned the rifle to LMT, Yes I am in contact with LMT. LMT is telling me this is normal.

Just wanted to see if its "normal" with everyone else.

Actually this happened to me a week ago. Basically the bolt was stuck on the round from the mag.

I was hoping this was a temp problem. Crap, I guess I need to contact LMT.

Well it can't be normal. If they do nothing, then I would be greatly disappointed and not typical of LMT. I'm sure they will take care of us.

OK just got off the phone with LMT. Bottom line is the dual ejectors put much more pressure on the bolt and brass causing more effort to be applied to remove live rounds from the chamber. The trade off is better extraction and ejection reliability.

Guess I will take it to the range and function test it. If it cycles OK then thats it I guess.

Out of curiosity, Is the ejected brass in good shape after firing with the new style ejectors? My single ejector cases look really good and they all pile up nicely at 2 o'clock.

So.....did you fire the rifle? How did it funtion? I dont know if a 20# weight would work the charging lever on either one of my AR10s and they run like machines.

Your comment reminds me of the stink-less OutHouse.

New buyers called the salesman over to complain about the stench. Salesman comes out and says "I see the problem". Buyer said "what is it"? Salesman says "You crapped in it", that voids the NO-stick warranty.

Do you "leave your guns alone"? Do they sit in your safe or do you shoot them? I bought the gun to shoot it not "leave it alone". All work on the gun was performed by LMT to fix a problem. I never touched the damn thing other than bullets and cleaning!

pc, my comment was in reference to Conrad101st's remark that his single ejector bolt was dumping pretty brass at 2 o'clock. Hence the little "re- Conrad101st" in the header. Not directed at you at all.

Glen from LMT really came through for me. This morning I received a package from LMT with a new bolt (completely unaware it was coming). Range tested it and all is well. LMT rocks!

Yeah Ive fired it many times. Just trying to get to 100% function. Running about 90% last time I sent it in. Started with a FTJ issue.

Brass had deep claw marks and dent in shoulder area. Brass, when it did eject, landed from 12:30-1:30 all over the place.

I was curious if that would happen with a up-vigored ejector?

I had zero intent of touching mine but have seen my buddies HK do that.

As to service, I suspect that ALL these manufactures are solid and will fix whatever occasionally rare defect does occur. The only company that ever really pissed me off was Weatherby.

By "no problems" are you saying the extraction has the same feel and pull weight as the single ejector bolt? It does not stick? It does not have about 20-30 extra pounds of pull pressure? Its smooth as silk and easy to extract?

Did you feed the live round from a magazine by pushing the bolt carrier release while the bcg was in a rear locked position and let it slam home?

The service rep told me that the dual-ejector bolts were designed for full-auto fire, to get the brass out of the chamber quicker. He suggested that cutting a coil off of each ejector spring would reduce the pressure. My rifle pitches the brass back to about 5 O'clock and dents the crap out of the brass. A piece of foam tape on the deflector lump helps the brass a lot, but I haven't gotten the nerve to go into the ejectors yet. Professional remedial back-up assistance is scarce in my part of the world...

I don't think LMT sells a full-auto .308. They make a lot of parts for different manufacturers, so there's no telling where a MWS bolt might show up.

They do make a Full auto for certain military concerns also a 13" barrel.

I would think 5.56 would be better on FA than 308. My thinking as an infantry platoon leader was that SAWS were designed to tear up kill zones on ambushes, sweep trenches, alleys, rooms and such. Pigs are for support positions or fixing Idjuts while you maneuver on them. 20 rounds on full auto went out with the BAR.
