Does anyone have any experience with Kifaru packs? Or more specifically I'm looking for reviews of their pack called the 14'r. I'm looking to upgrade to a high quality pack for general use, for example: range use, matches, and hunting. I've used multiple bags from 5.11 to Eberlestock packs and I just haven't found the "one" yet. So, if anyone has experience with Kifaru packs I'm interested in your thoughts good or bad.

    Thanks

Nothing on the 14r, but I've used their packs for years. Best in the business. Had one issue from me rigging part of the pack up in a way they hadn't intended, and they paid shipping and repairs, hooked me up. Plus if you have questions, jump on the forums over at rokslide, aron snyder (head honcho) will give you his cell and talk it over with you. Best customer service out there.

Kifaru junky here. Bought sold and bought more. I just picked up the 14r last month and it’s going to be a great day pack or even a minimalist weekend pack.

I also have the Antero that I use as my EDC. Love that pack too. Last 2 day match I shot I loaded the Antero up with everything including tripod the night before, and decided to take my G2 Express instead. The Antero will do it just fine but it would benefit from a frame sheet/support. The panel access on the Antero is awesome. Once I got the G2 Express sold I picked up the 14r and I think it will be a great pack for matches, particularly field matches where you are hiking more. My tripod will also fit inside of the 14r as it is pretty tall with 23” stays. I like the center zip for quick access too, and it has a very similar pocket config on the lid as the express which I always found handy.

Like all kifaru packs it fits and feels great.

I have a 10+ year old Kifaru Pointman (old pack, no longer made). I use it to carry around a chain saw on my farm to spots my side-by-side or truck can't get to ... no, the chain saw isn't running, but just seating there it is a dangerous object and speaks volumes to the Kifaru durability.

Do you feel the 14r or Kifaru packs in general lack the capability of organizing gear for matches? My tripod measures 25", will that fit in the pack?

I run a Kifaru mountain warrior with no problem running tripods inside. You'll want some sort of protection if there are other metal objects that would bump into it.

Something I'm changing up this for this coming season will be an addition of the Sunrise Tac bipod scabbard to the side of my pack which will accommodate my 24L w/ Anvil 30.

Of all the packs I have and use, the Kifaru is the only way to go. With the Mountain Warrior I generally pack about 40lbs of gear, and even after consecutive 12 mile trips on foot in the shittiest terrain that Colorado has to offer, my back is no longer the weak link.

RE the Sunrise Tactical bipod scabbard. I agree on this. See my mini review of it here: https://www.snipershide.com/shootin...tripod-solution-offered.6870222/#post-6898767

The scabbard comes with a carrying strap so you can carry it off the ruck as well. Great add if you have a tripod and want to move it, easily deploy it and protect it.

I was actually referring to this one with the flap: https://www.sunrisetacticalgear.com/Tactical-Tripod-Scabbard-2500413.htm. I have both, but I wanted something else to avoided zipper noise in the field.

    Solid review BTW.

The 14r can provide plenty organization. Also, using grab it pouches to organize tools etc is a good practice.

They just released the Shape Charge. Looks pretty good too.

Had a Kifaru for hunting for awhile. Bombproof pack, but heavy and lots of straps that got in the way all the time. Great company. If just for hunting I would say Seek Outside, or Stone Glacier. For matches and stuff, a Kifaru would not be the worst choice.
