Old S1, a member that was banned from here about 6 or more years ago was fond of talking about WSSM gas guns, how he would get 1/4MOA results from them.
Don't think they ever caught on.

Dtech .243wssm 20". I loved it and wished I never sold it.
5 shots at 100yds. Not my best group but only one I have pictures of.

What is it that you want to know? I'm sure quite a few guys know about them. It's an awesome hunting caliber and hard to beat in the AR, especially at distance...but it's not for everyone.
I've got quite a big of sub .5 MOA groups with my .243WSSM but my technique needs work.
Is .25 MOA possible...sure, but I can't shoot that good, even if my rifle could.
10 shots at .75 MOA isn't even a challenge.
3-5 at .5 isn't hard either.
105 Amax at around 3150
These nine were in about 7-8 seconds.

Yep, that's me.
The advantage over an AR10 will be less overall weight and an increase in achievable bullet speed.
Yes you can whittle down an AR10 to be at or near an AR15 in weight...and my .243WSSM AR is no where near light weight. I didn't plan for it to be, but the fact remains that if you WANT to build a .243 on an AR 10 and keep it light weight. OR If you WANT to build a .243WSSM on an AR15 and keep it light weight. The AR15 will be lighter. (with all else equal)
The disadvantage will be that you have a limited mag length that will either handicap your ability to use "ultra awesome" bullets or you'll need to modify factory mags. (or you can use the new Oly Arms UMAR lower receiver and proprietary magazines)
I have been fortunate to find acceptable accuracy and exceptional velocity with 105 gr bullets out of a 1:9 twist and I modify Pmags to feed my ammo with an OAL of 2.400.
Another downside for the WSSM is brass quality. It's not what I would call terrible but it's thick, and has a bit of a learning curve when it comes to reloading. In my experience, which is little, the brass quality in a gas gun matters very little.
People always want to throw out that with a .243WSSM you CAN'T use 105, 108 or 115 gr bullets because you need to seat them too deep into the case and therefor, you lose available case capacity. This is a problem with a lot of rounds, but not with the .243WSSM...BECAUSE, with a max charge you still have room for 3-5 more grains of powder, so seating the bullet deeper if you need to, is a non-issue.
I've pushed mine well beyond "book max" with two different types of powder and neither one is even close to a compressed load.

its cool ill give you that i don't know i just got done with my 20" 223 wildchamber i just order all the stuff to make a 300 black out pistol but i think im going to sell it and do a AR-10 i don't know. my wife is freaking flipping the F**k out about the pistol.

C_Bass has probably got me on the WSSM info, but I do have one in 25WSSM. I don't load match bullets, I load it for hunting with hunting bullets, and its a .75ish MOA shooter for me. I can say this: 25WSSM kills anything as big or smaller than a big MN whitetail and kills them DRT.
I am going to play around with some new pills when I get home, but for now it seems to do really well with the more narrow assortment of 25 cal bullets available. He was asking about a WSSM which Olympic Arms has been building for years and they outsource parts to Mike a Dtec and Carl at Accuracy Systems to do custom builds. I believe Olympic was the first to chamber the round in an AR.
The Armalite AR-10T was a 300 SAUM and it's has been discontinued for years. (I've got one of those too)
Armalite and DPMS both did the 300 SAUM and they both quit building it because of low sales numbers...BUT...the WSM and SAUM are coming back, by at least one builder that I know of besides Accuracy Systems that still does the 300SAUM and 325WSM.

I have a 25WSSM gas gun and love it! it is extremely accurate. Came from Accuracy Systems in Colorado. Came with a test target at a 100yds with crappy factory winchester 120grn ammo and shot .50 3 shot group. I have since reloaded for it using 100 grn bullets (since I don't need to throught the 120s for its purpose but nice to be able to) and it is extremely flat and accurate, easy to handle and fun to shoot. 1 down size is I can only find 7 round mags for it since the bullets are so fat...but preformance wise its awesome.

Where do I start...
I bought a new Olympic Arms. The brass quality of two different lots of brass were horrible, you name it, everything about the brass was inconsistent. I threw 10% of the brass away. The rifle shot 2.25" groups at 100y. It jammed frequently.
After "many"
hours of brass prep, sorting, load work with 4 different powders and 4 different bullets I got it working somewhat acceptably. On a good day it would shoot 1 moa and run most of the time. Plain and simple if a rifle can't shoot close to .5" groups at 100Y I've got no use for it. I sold the 243wssm to a guy who was looking for a coyote rifle with all the prepped brass,dies and the load recipe.
I switched over to 6mmART40 with 105's. Less than half moa groups are common. The brass is over the top in quality. The barrel has 1700 rounds through it and it still shoots excellent. I lent it to a new friend for his first rifle match. He hit a 8" plate at 803Y five times in a row. None of the other shooters could do that including me,LOL

I came across a used custom AR .300 WSM today, Never seen one before and even questioned the guy in the store if it was a RSAUM? he said nope.
If they start production on these things back up i am definitely interested, especially if they can squeeze some accuracy out of these rifles

I had one and sold it. It was a good shooting gun, but expensive and I didn't use it like I thought I would.
My upper was from Dtech with the Shilen barrel upgrade.

I didn't take any pics, I looked it over pretty good though. It was an armalite lower, just stamped 7.62 nothing else of note.
It had custom work done, as it had a custom muzzle break on it and there was a name on the tag of a smith that worked on it but can't remember it.
It was not a new rifle, it was used and this thing looked like it had some history or the guy just didnt take care of it or didn't baby it i should say
they wanted $1900 for it i was interested just not for quite that much with out a better history on it.
i can get you a number of the shop if you are interested
