Rifle Scopes Any thoughts on Steyr SSG 69 rail from Steyr site

Any one have any experience with the Steyr rail for SSG 69 from Steyr USA site ??

From Steyr website it's $125 and doesn't require drill. But reviews from that site was not good.

Is that a 20 moa rail or zero ? How good are they ??

Well, I don't want to return to the charge but I think that it is exactly what I am doing !

I have no experience whatsoever with the Steyr rail as advertised on SteyrArms site but did you know that the SSG 69 PI and PII rifles do have 20 MOA receiver rails, as confirmed by Mr Oliver Bauer, Sales Manager at Steyr Mannlicher GmbH ? If you are interested in learning more about that feature of those rifles, you could check it up by yourself by reading my post dated 02-14-2011.

Steyr Mannlicher SSG 69 rifles are, let's say, somewhat different - meaning special.

thanks Carcajou. I have read that already, that's whey I want to make sure if the receiver is already 20 moa and the rail that they offer also has a 20 moa is that gonna add up to a total of 40 moa ?? Or the rail is just a regular "zero" rail and after the installation it only gives a total of 20 moa?? I am looking to put a Permier or Hensoldt scope on it and it's 34mm I need the rail to be able to do that. thanks guys. I need more info.

Me again, yeah.

Come to think of it, if you only need 20 MOA rails, maybe you should take a look at Recknagel rings for the Steyr Mannlicher SSG 69 rifles (German and pretty well made) that are offered in 34mm diameter and three different heights, 14mm, 19mm and 27mm.

Called Steyr USA today, their answer is "ZERO". So, I am thinking if their rail is 0 moa and the receiver is 20 moa, after the installation it is still gonna have 20 moa. So, my order is on the way.

I've used it on a SSG 69 PII I had. I had to use a dead blow to get it on all the way. It worked well and I never had a problem with it. The rifle has since changed hands a couple times and as far as I know its still going strong.
