Any way to get a vertical grip mounted on standard handguard?

There are multiple companies making "rail sections" (polymer and alloy) that will mount to the standard vent holes found on your average A2/M4 handguards at 6 o'clock, BUT...as with all external forces exerted on a non-free floating handguard system on a rifle like an AR, you may turn acceptable performance/accuracy into SHITE with the addition of a VFG to them.

See here for examples:

Falcon Industries Picatinny Rail Rail Covers Mounting Hardware AR-15

Midwest Industries Bolt On Handguard Rail AR-15 Aluminum Black

GG&G ETI UFIR Underend Integrated Rail AR-15 Rifle Handguard Aluminum

ProMag Picatinnyend Rail AR-15 Carbine Polymer Black

Anyway...you get the idea. ;)

I've seen people use standard AR pistolgrips with the two "ears" that locate on either side of the receiver tab cut off. File it a little to help locate it in therib with the vent holes, then use a bolt, nut, and washes to secure it through one of the vent holes. Though the trend seems to be going away from using VFGs. Your rifle, your choice.
