Anybody have any trouble with AICS magazines

in 308 action not feeding because the spring is not pushing up the front of the round so it does not feed? Just experienced this and not happy with the results since I converted my rifles to use this magazine and not have to slap the bottom to make it feed right.

No issues with CDI metal just installed on my FN SPR. One of my two 10 shot mags needed a very small tweak. One mag worked perfect and the other would hang up. I used the edge of my wood loading bench to open the lips up a VERY small amount.

My rounds do not sit quite as high but they do feed better if sitting higher.

I had to do the same thing cal50 stated. I guess during shipment something heavy laid on it, squeezing the front closed. Some prying/tweaking and about 5 mins later it was good as new.

Yes we have seen that in some new AICS mags. It seems to have improved as it has worn in. Not sure what you could do to try to fix it.

Double check and be sure the bullet tip is not getting caught up on the underside of the feed ramp. The feed ramp could be extended into the mag area slightly. This would have nothing to do with the mag but the placement of the bottom metal and the action during bedding.

Are you using genuine AI brand mags? I've had other brands have that issue, but never real AI.

And the quickest way to tell is to look for the AI logo on the floorplate of the magazine...

But not fool-proof as there are quite a few REAL AI mags out there without the stamp.

Well as all ways, if you have a problem, question or need assistance I'm here to help. I don't know of any problems, anything can happen of course and if its ours and no modifications, we will make it right of course.

My mags all have the "AI" stamp in the base, and feed flawlessly, no matter what bullet I have used. The quality is very high IMHO.

They are all 4 AI. I had them loaded for 4 months maybe that is why they were sticking. Is there a spring replacement?

& are wondering why the spring may have taken on a set?

You most likely need to adjust the magazine lips. You need to make sure the top round sits high enough such that it feeds smoothly into the chamber. If the round sits too low, spread the lips. If too high, close the lips. The primer of the bullet should be almost entirely visible.

Did you try the action and bottom metal ONLY (attached together outside the stock) with the same results (bad feeding) ?

This would eliminate the stock as any part of the problem if you have the same results.
