bottom metal for Rem 700.jpg

Is there a flat bottom made to take my DPMS 308 magazines? I have a bunch of 308 DPMS mags on hand. If there is nothing made to take DPMS, then can you name me a brand bottom metal that will take other brand $25-$35 magazines? I don't wish to buy $70 AIC magazines if I don't have to.

Photo is of a typical kind of bottom metal I'm looking for. I don't care if it has a lever on it, or a button inside the trigger guard. Ill accept it too if it isn't all flat and has the M5 style step.

Nope. Problem isn't the bottom metal, it's the actions/bolts. There isn't proper space in the action for the AR style magazines to sit high enough to feed.

Best bet is something like the Ruger Precision Rifle. Take a gander at the bolt on one of those to see how much material had to be cut away to make room for the magazine sitting high enough to feed from a polymer double stack/double feed mag.

Thanks for that input. Oh well. That would have been nice to be able to use a bunch of new DPMS mags sitting around in a box. lol.

I studied this some more to learn that evidently magpul is making a PMAG polymer magazine that will fit inside any M5 style bottom-metal that takes an AICS magazine. (like the one in my photo which is a PT&G.) Accept for the current political panic causing shortages with many magazines, the PMAGS are more widely available then the $70 AICS magazines and less then half the price. So, I'll just stick with the $129 PT&G bottom metal.
