Nobody fucked anything up, the only that changed with some of the old guards were things like Facebook, they found it more convenient to communicate with friends and family in one place. The self-contained App system is what changed, which is why people move on.
No one thing replaced the site, which is a huge clue, and by the way, our numbers are stronger than ever...
We average about 750k a month with unique users, at the height of the lockdowns we saw 1.5M unique users, in 2014 just prior to the Scout change we averaged about 400k unique users. I get it people hated the Scout stuff, as did I but I had a plan. Unfortunately, the Scout management sidetracked my plan. I was locked into a 3-year contract which I ended early and took a monster hit...
Truth is, this site is better than ever, a Stable working App, Forum that is stronger than before in terms of infrastructure.
Army Jerry added nothing but comedy and degraded the conversation, as I tell people all the time, it's 10%, and in my mind that changed to 25% with our current setup.
