I am looking for a .338 can to use for .300 AAC and some use on a .30 cal bolt gun(.308 and 300WM) and will also use on a .338 LM, when I getting around to putting one together. I don't want anything too big or heavy, but do want quality and performance. I have never used a YHM can, and want some input. I own/use a couple of AAC cans, and have no complaints, but the .338 titan might be too big to try and fill the job I am trying to do. I understand I'll lose a little suppression using the .338 on a .30 caliber, and am OK with this. I am trying to save $$$.
Thanks in advance for the advice, expertise and opinions.

If you dont want heavy, the YHM may not be for you. The can itself is 32oz, then the muzzle brake QD adapter is about 8oz.

The suppression is excellent though, the 338LM might be a tad louder than my 308 with the 7.62 phantom on it, but not much. The 338 can also works very well on the 308, suppressing it better than the 7.62 can, its just a bit huge for my 18" 308.

If youre on an extreme budget like me, you wont be disappointed in its performance at all, its downfalls are just its weight, and also it is just chromoly steel so if youre not careful it WILL rust.

I have one and like it. The price is great. It is definitely heavy and big. Unless you only shoot 300aac from a bipod or rest I think the 338 phantom will be ridiculous on that platform.

Yep, big and heavy. Also, at least mine had a huge POI shift when I replaced the brake on my TRG-42 with the YHM brake and can: ~ 5.5 moa to the 6 o'clock position. Accuracy has not suffered though, the rifle is still capable of much better groups than I am.

One other note. I think the YHM muzzle brake/qd mount is just for show, so don't shoot it without the suppressor unless you are prepared for the recoil.

Have you tried it? I disagree, I was expecting the same thing, but its actually quite effective. Recoil is no worse than with the can on.

Well you must not be driving the gun correctly because their muzzle brake on a 300WM makes felt recoil go down to what a 260 with no brake feels like. Even better control on a 338LM and could spot hit easily down range.

I like the brake for just being a brake. The suppressor is an added bonus in my collection.

Drove the rifle the same as when it had the Sako brake on it. Huge difference. Maybe they have redesigned it in the last two years since buying mine, but the YHM brake/adapter I have is nowhere near as effective. There is a large enough difference that if I am going to shoot in a locale which prohibits suppressors, I'll put the Sako back on it.
