Try to find a herd the week before, they will bugle until the first shots are fired, after that it will be spotting scope time. Get out the night before and listen, unless another bull pushes them they will often be in the same place at first light as you find them at night. I love 1st season. It will probably be warm, so if you get one get the hide off ASAP and get the meet in a creek or on ice right away. Good luck.I drew first rifle in Colorado for unit 25 (which includes about 10 other units where the tag crosses over) for my first elk hunt. I’m pretty pumped. I’ve just been doing map recon as well as reading everything I can on the internet. I’m also open to any advice you guys might have.
