Anyone ever do a Custom order Savage?

I have been running a Savage 10 FCP-SR 6.5 CM for two years and it is a tack driver in an MDT LSS-XL Gen2 chassis with all the extra goodies. I'm getting hot to do the same action/configuration in a .338 Lapua Mag. but Savage seems to only want to do production on fancy .338 chambered actions. I want an exact replica of my Savage 10 FCP-SR only with 26" barrel and in .338 Lapua Mag.

Anyone else ordered/purchased a factory special order from Savage?

As long as you’re aware that the 338L is a special long action for them, you should be good to go.

People don’t tend to keep them long, in part because they’re expensive to feed, so you could probably get one pretty cheap if you keep an eye out.

You will probably need to get the BA Stealth, which conveniently comes in an MDT LSS. Swap out the buttstock and grip and you’re fine. If you insist on the 26” barrel, you’d probably still end up with a cheaper package by buying used rifle and new barrel instead of Savage custom.

Check out the 110 Elite Precision, 338LM in the MDT ACC, 30" barrel w/ 9.25 twist - I'm thinking about the 300 Norma version, coming out supposedly later in the year. Street price should be 1600 or so - can't go wrong. Alternatively, when those come out, the Stealth Evo's should drop some more in price.

I have an inquiry in to Savage to see if I can buy a barreled action - I'd love to have the 110 Elite Precision barrel and action. I'd just rather not pay for the chassis, brake, and butt stock just to strip them off and replace them with an LSS-XL Gen2, Area 419 brake, and move my XLR Extreme buttstock over to it.

I'm wanting to buy the barreled action from Savage essentially so we'll see if they will do that.

Northland shooter supply sells blueprinted savage actions. Would buying an action and barrel from them work?

Savage Customer Support told me they don't do Customs nor sell barreled actions. Savage Special Order Shop tells me I can get anything I want. What I want is a Savage 110 Elite Precision barreled action and they are not yet available. But when they are I'm going to attempt to get Savage Special Order Shop to sell me the Elite Precision barrel and action in .338 Lapua and set it in an MDT LSS-XLGen2 chassis with other goodies.

Love the concept I'm just not wild about the MDT ACC chassis and prefer the LSS-XLGen 2 as I already have a Savage 10 in 6.5CM in that chassis and I'm whoring for that.

We'll se what Savage says when they get up to steam in the Elite Precision line which are not yet available anywhere that I can find.
