Anyone got .338-06 recipes?

Re: Anyone got .338-06 recipes?

Can't help with those specifics but you might use trhis for guide lines.
VZ-24 Mauser, 23 5/8ths Shilen 1:10 twist

Winchester brass, Fed 210 primer 200 Hornady spire point
56 grains VV N150 2690 @ 70 degrees
57 grains VV N150 2731 # 70 degrees

55 grains VV N150 and Hornady 250 RN 2480# 70 degrees
This is a long bearing surface bullet so pressure builkd quickly, hence velocity is limited. Good penetrator for bear though.

Same bullet 61 grains Re19 61 grains 2510 @ 70 degrees

Hornady 225 SST F210, Win brass 52.3 grains RE-15 2615 @ 85 degrees. Could go lots faster but this is 400 yard 1 moa accurate.

Re: Anyone got .338-06 recipes?

My older Sierra manual has loads, and recommends IMR-4064 and RE-19 as outstanding performers. For their 25" 1:10" barrel testing:

215Gr SRA Spizter BT
IMR-4064 Min 48.0gr/2400fps, Max 52.0gr/2600fps
RE-19 Min 58.1gr/2400fps, Max 65.8gr/2700fps

250gr SRA Spitzer BT
IMR-4064 Min 46.3gr/2300fps, Max 50.4gr/2500fps
RE-19 Min 55.0gr/2300fps, Max 61.2gr/2550fps.

I have no personal experience with the chambering, and am simply relating what I read in my manual. Start low, work up, observe and heed all pressure signs.
