A shooter on M40 Rifle forum is in discussion with me regards his adventure into the shooting sports.
He asked a question about position and I explained my education on prone is basically get the rifle as close to inline with your spine as physiology allows....legs comfortably spread, toes outboard, heels on deck, body in line with target, rifle held at NPA as close to inline with spine as your "Mask" sized head will allow, body with as much earth contact as possible/as much behind rifle as possible to take up recoil. Comfort of the shooter in regards to terrain being a factor to take into account.
He described using an older paradigm body cocked, knee up position.
Nothing being written in stone but there being sound advice and practices, Id like to show him a picture of a shooter in a solid prone position, perhaps even a video, to help him out.
Ive explained Im no trainer and suggested he get training from a real instructor. I believe he is dipping in to this site also so he seems to be sniffing around in the right places.
Anyone got a pic or video?
