Looking for a smith to spin up a few MRAD barrels using Barrett’s makers kit ( similar to DTA ).

Do we have any smiths here who have or are interested in doing barrels for the MRAD?

While I am not in need of a new barrel at the moment, can you provide more info on this Barrett "makers kit?" I have only heard of anyone spinning a MRAD barrel if you provided a sacrificial barrel to get the shroud from. That always made it seem simpler to me to just buy the kits from Barrett.

I'd just call somebody up and talk to them about it. Southern Precision Rifles or Spartan Rifles would be great places to start.

Explain they'd be cutting a barrel for the extension, included in the kit, and then headspacing by threading the extension onto the barrel and locking it in place with a jam but.

The kit includes a print so they have details on how to cut the blank. Bonus points for timing the bore curvature vertical with the notch for the alignment pin in the chassis.

Edited to add if somebody wants to take these on we could probably organize a group buy via the MRAD thread.

They're late to the party but about 8yrs but they finally opened the door to these rifles taking off in a variety of calibers.

Yea Barrett is late to the party for sure.... the released these right after I sold my MRAD at a pretty good loss to buy an AXMC

But glad to see they are letting people get custom barrles . Which they had ben very resistant to for the life of the MRAD up until that point
