Hi all.

My practical journey of long range target shooting will be beginning soon at the wonderful site of Bisley Surrey UK, i am in the process of getting my NRA probation membership sorted out so i then can become a NRA member and then soon FAC (will take me up to around June time my birthday so good timing)

Out of interest anyone shoot there and can you loan weapons if you book a target?

Hi Adam,

Bisley is my home range ! Once you are an NRA full member, or hold an FAC, you are able to hire weapons from Fred in the armoury (the same building as the range office). They are all basic weapons, but a good place to start. Don't forget that you need a Range Safety Certificate to shoot on the Bisley ranges now. The NRA club should sort that out for you though.

I do believe carrying out the NRA probation course gains you your range safety certificate, i may be wrong im looking into it

You are right. If you do the NRA probationers course, then you will get your range safety certificate which will be valid for 3 years.

New member here, been attending Bisley for about 7 years,

Centrefire, rimfire and shottie.

Bisley is pretty local to me (50 miles)

Have been shooting there offand on since 1980's

There seems to be a few of us in England, and not far from Bisley too ! How does everyone feel about booking a range one weekend so we could all meet up and get some shooting done ? I'm happy to make all the arrangements and range bookings etc. if the interest is there. Anyone interested ?

I'm interested and only 45 mins from Bisley. My scope has just gone back for modifications but I should be ready by early Oct I hope. Weekends tend to work better for me. A Bisley meeting would be a good first step and I've got my eye on below for step 2 ! I'm chatting to them about dates/numbers but probably something for Nov or a very cold and dark Dec !
