Hey guys,
I'm kind of stuck on something. I hit a dry spell with different position shooting. I'm currently working on Distinguished Expert. But in ANY position I keep running up to a one or two point block. I have been shooting a Kimber 82G for over a year.
I have had a 1961 edition Model 54 Anschutz that I've been playing around with for a while now. From a benchrest & bags the Anschutz will out shoot any other 22 I own at 25 and 50 yards. I put an original Anschutz rear site and an older Redfield Olympic front site. The Anschutz is 3 pounds heavier and just over 6 inches longer in the barrel and almost 8 inches in the stock.
The problem is, when I get in the sling and in position the Anschutz seems to "drift" around on me. I have the sling set about the same as with the Kimber. And the length of pull also the same.
Does anyone have any ideas? From the bench the Anschutz shoots like a dream. Probably 20% tighter than either Kimber or Ruger M7722. But when actually in position it's the reverse.
Ideas...?
