I have a Remington 700 SPS and just picked up a box of Herters .308 Win 150gr FMJ for sighting the rifle tomorrow.

I've not shot the .308 Win version, but I have shot the other Herter's.
The real question is why you would use it to sight your precision rifle? You likely won't shoot the same point of impact with Herters as quality match ammunition.
It only takes two to three rounds to zero a rifle, so why not zero it with the load you intend to shoot? At worst it costs about what you'd wasted on the box of Herter's.
Disregard all this if you're intending to shoot mainly Herter's in your rifle.

Are we talking old school herters here or re branded cabela's line. I shot some really old school herters match ammo once and the brass was really nice for reloading as well but this was about 4 years back and I havn't seen any since.
