Besides looking at the guns and ghillies, I've got no idea what the hell they are saying...

South Korean Snipers

Re: Anyone Speak Korean??

Man thats a lot to translate.
I'd sum it up as a casual capabilities brief for your general public. How far they can shoot, what kind of group sizes they can get. Shooting from moving platforms (ROK Seal snipers) How they train, blahblah. I just kinda clicked through it. I'm not sure what branch of military they're from or if it was a variety (they showed a ROK Marine and ROK Navy seal)

shit, im jealous they got AI .50bmg with schmidt and bender scopes.

Oh and that last segment, dude got hazed for tensing up and not relaxing while shooting his target. Did a little remediation run

Very cool shots and effects - thanks for posting. I was a little surprised on the the lack of mastery of the fundamentals. Several instances of poor trigger control and recoil management. [shrugs]

I also think the pipe and tomato shot was staged. I would think that the angle of fall of the bullet for any LR shot of consequence, would have meant the bullet striking the bottom of the pipe prior to exit. Not presenting an argument either way, just a gut feeling.

Re: Anyone Speak Korean??

Impressive; Just wish they had sub-titles.

I worked with the ROK Marines a couple times in SE Asia. Those suckers are nuts.

One time we had the enter parmeter, they had the outer. Being good little soldiers we had perfect noise and light disaplan. Not the ROK, They had bond fires and were setting around BEing as if they were back on the block.

I snuck down to their primeter to check them out. I asked if they weren't afraid their possitions were comformized, they said that's the point. No since of going to war and hiding. They wanted the bad guys to show up. Then they showed me the guys out side of their premiter. Those crazy suckers were crawling around with nothing but a bayonet hoping some one would try and sneak in.

Then again this was just over a decade since they were fighting communism at home and had a different attitude.

This video gives me hope they haven't change.

Thanks for posting it.

They have some really cool targets in that vid, thanks for posting! I worked with ROK Marines when I did a month-long tour in S. Korea. Went through their mountain warfare training...they are friggin' hard-core nuts!

I gave/assisted in giving several classes to the "RECON" guys over there they're a part of the special ops South Korea has, the ranges they had didn't allow them to engage targets past 500m. Need more range time, but on that note they could probably kill you by pinching your ear, pretty damn good at the ol' Tae Kwon Do.

Re: Anyone Speak Korean??

All you need to know about Korean is "Kim-chi" and you'll smell long before you see it! smells like boiled sock water and road kill 'possum soup!

Pusan/Po hang for Col Usher Ops in '89.

ROK are nuts.

Breeze

The only worse smelling is a Kimchi flavored fart.(in a ghillie suit!)
