Rolling my own. FWIW, I am not aware of Hornady offering the 178gr A-MAX in a factory loaded .308 Win. They offer the 178gr BTHP in the Superformance Match line, but not the A-MAX.
I would personally recommend that you NOT run Superformance in gas guns as I have personally seen high-pressure signs, blown primers, etc. with it. </div></div>
I am shooting a RRA LAR-8 and all I hunt with is GMX Superperformance Match ammunition and I generally practice with match SSTs or with handloaded 178gr A-MAX, LLC brass, with a similar recipe. Are you recommending that no one use this ammo or just not in gas guns? I am curious what kind of gas gun you were using and what the specs were, how much ammo had been run through it, type of ammo shot out of it, etc, or at least the observable conditions that caused the failures.
