ANYONE USE ONE OF THESE??

Re: ANYONE USE ONE OF THESE??

LOL havent seen one of those in years (10+). Short answer they do work. IMO reason they are not more popular now is the abundance of adjustable gas systems. At one point this was one of two options, the other being opening up the gas port hole.

now the big question is.. is it worth getting one?? i would run an adjustable gas block, but i'm going to be running an a-tower.. so is it worth it on a carbine length gas system or should i just stick to the standard carbine length gas tube?? barrel length is going to be 14.5"

Re: ANYONE USE ONE OF THESE??

IMO 14.5" isnt short enought to worry about it. So long as the gas port hole is to spec it will run fine. Seems that you may have used an M4 or two in your day...did any fail to function due to short stroking? None of mine have.

These were intended to be used on very short rigs like 11" and 7" SBR and pistols. If it were me I would skip it and do any tuning from the gas port.

Re: ANYONE USE ONE OF THESE??

yes i have time quite a bit of time behind the ar platform.. none of my weapons have ever had a short stroke problem..

i stumbled onto those gas tubes, and just wondered.. so i'll stick to the standard tube..

thanks
