I did a search to no avail,

looking for opinions on this mount (first hand knowledge) American Defense MFG AD-RECON-S

Scott at Liberty told me it's a good mount, and I believe him, just wanted to see if anyone had used one and what they thought,

I have a scope that has to pull duty on multiple rifles until my second scope is done...
TIA
Andy

Re: anyone used this scope mount?

I have a USO SN-4 1.5-6 in the AD-Recon model on my 16" bbl'd AR.
Nice mount. Tough, repeats zero very well with removal and replacement, easy to adjust for tension. The locks are nice in that they cannot scratch the receiver like some other mounts.

I would buy another if I needed one.

Thanks...
somehow some one having actually used one and liked it makes me feel better, if that makes sense.....

Took the plunge and bought one.
I really like the mount, it is well made, and I like the adjustability, and how the cam levers have a lock so they can't be inadvertantly undone.....

I did find it too tall, but I put it in the mill and lowered the ring height by about .300"
It is comfortable now with my "usual" cheekweld.....

Re: anyone used this scope mount?

I have not used one in that manner, but I would guess it will maintain to within 1/4 MOA if you keep things clean, mount it in the same slots, and bump it forward before tightening each time.
If you know for a fact that your base is true even after mounting, the slot choice should not matter very much if at all.

You did lower that mount! I take it you milled out the center of the mono bar and reshaped either end to take the scope rings again? Very nice work. I too like them better than LaRue (single lock up rear). The only simpler one is the GG&G with its fully adjustable single throw lever.

Exactly, I was conservative, I probably could have gotten another .050-.100" lower...

I really like the cam levers, I wish they would make a lower mount.

In the future, I may just buy one of their modular bases and some ring halves, then make a center bar to fit the specific scope....

Re: anyone used this scope mount?

what do guys think if i use this for a m25 and a ar50 is the height gonna mess p the cheek weld i need the mount in high since the bolt handle on the ar 50 might contact the scope on low

Re: anyone used this scope mount?

It's also worth noting,
there is not enough space between the rings for a scope with a large center section... (ie.. the center portion of my USO TPAL is too big)....
