anyone using a aluminum action?

Stolle actions have been a round for a while, and are quite effective in the BR and F-class world. What are you thinking of building?
I have been looking at the 6br norma for a while but ended up getting a 260 rem. But I was looking at the kodiak action by kelby rifles since I kinda want to build a light 6br for hunting for giggles. I also want to build an aluminum action out of 7075-t6 aerospace grade stuff and I will have access (hopefully) to a cnc milling machine and a manual one this summer. (better than the ones I have)
I do not post on here much, but visit the site everyday. With Aluminum actions, one must remember that they are not fully Aluminum but have steel inserts for the threads and locking lugs. Also when looking at them I would look for the F-Class, Big Bore, or the Kodiak since all have a built in recoil lug and does not rely on a sandwich type of bedding to handle the recoil. If you do not care about repeaters, then the options open up to all of Kelbly's Aluminum actions and also Stiller's Viper or Rattler. I have had a Panda, a Viper, and a Polar and I have never had any problems out of them.

I have several Panda's. I have a 6BS (similar to a Dasher) in a Panda RBLPRE with TG ejector and it works great. I have never had any problems with a Kebly's aluminum action. For a 6BR or BR variant you don't really need a recoil lug even if you pillar bed. You just bed the vertical portion of the rear tang for your recoil lug. Many do it this way although I have seen recoil lugs dovetailed into the front of Panda's.
I agree with not needing a recoil lug for the 6br, however by having the integrated recoil lug, it give the shooter the ability to go up in caliber without having to worry in the future about recoil on the action. Plus with the OP looking at the Kodiak (which has the integrated lug), I was taking that into consideration when I suggested the lugged versions.
