Anyone using a switchblock?

I am planning on replacing my 18 inch 5.56 barrel soon with a Noveske 18 inch. I am running suppressed, so I am considering their switchblock. I want to know if anyone has noticed a significant advantage using a switchblock suppressed. It is my understanding that with the suppressor I do not need as much gas in the gas tube to cycle the weapon as the increased pressure from the suppressor is assisting in the cycling (please correct me if I am wrong). So it would make sense to be able to turn down the gas if it is not needed would 1. keep the chamber a little cleaner, and 2. perhaps cause less wear and tear on the parts by not over gassing the weapon.

I have switchblocks on two different barrel lengths, and love both of them. I would highly recommend them for guns that are going to be run suppressed. I've switched the settings back and forth between normal and suppressed (with the suppressor on) and the difference is considerable.

Thanks Jason, I think that is the direction that I am going to go. One other selling point for me is that they are using a rifle length gas system on their 18 inch switchblock, whereas the standard gas block 18 inchers are using a mid length. I'd prefer that extra bit of dwell time if I can get it. I'll also have to modify my rail. I'm using a Troy 13.8, and I'm pretty sure I will be able to cut out a section to accommodate the switchblock.

Noveske uses an intermediate length for their 18" barrels, it's about 11" from the receiver instead of rifle length at 12". Just want to make sure you caught that before you modify your rail! Also, when you order you might ask them to pull the pin back out of the block and send it to you unassembled, they drive those in there tight and you can destroy punches trying to get it out on your own.

Thanks, for the heads up, and I won't be doing ant cutting until I have the barrel here in hand so I can get it exact. I may rent or buy one of their bench blocks too while I'm at it.

I have a factory built Noveske 18" SPR w/switchblock system on it running a AWC Raider unit on it full time. When you have the switchblock system turned on in suppressed mode it is designed not to cycle the bolt. Basically it turns it into a single shot system which is bitchin when using subsonic 5.56 ammo. It completely does away with any cycling noise. Even with standard 77 gr.BTHP Match ammo it stays in single shot mode. This elements any exyra noise. I have also noticed a tighter grouping in accuracy over the standard mode.

So your saying that it will NOT cycle when in the Suppressed position? I thought that was the intended purpose of the Off position.

Mine have three settings, Normal, Suppressed and Off.
