Anyone using MDT metal mags with Hawkins Hunter BM

As the title states, I am wondering if anyone has run MDT metal magazines with success in their Hawkins Hunter bottom metal? I tried the polymer and they don’t fit, you’d have to do some filing. Was hoping someone else tried this before ordering. It’s for my 6.5 CM and I see that the MDT metal mags w/o binder leave me good room to load my bullets out long like my rifle prefers.

Most Aics mags definitely work with Hawkins Hunter bottom metal. AW mags do not, usually.

I can’t say specifically that I’ve tried mdt metal mags but I’ve definitely used AI and Accurage mags in hunter bottom metal.

Thank you. I’m really hoping someone else has tried this combo of mdt and Hawkins. If not, I guess I can be the guinea pig and give it a shot myself.

No problem with the MDT metal mags. I also have the MDT polymer magazine and it is definitely a tighter fit than the metal mag.

Is the reverse compatible? Hunter mags in aics bottom metal?

Edit: I'm asking because I'd like to use the hunter mags with block to run a 6.5 CM in a long action (on a switch barrel rifle)

If this is true the tolerance must overlap. All of the aics mags I've tried in my hawkins hunter BM play nice together. Used metal mdt, plastic mdt, plastic magpul aics, ARC metal Mags and they all worked.

Hmmmm... I'll have to mess with it again tomorrow. I just had a rifle in the shop with the Hawkins hunter DBM and the short action MDT mag we had wouldn't fit. I'll grab a DBM off the shelf and check it again.

Quick update,

I was completely wrong in my first post. I grabbed a rifle off the shelf with the short action Hawkins Hunter DBM and short action AICS (MDT) mags fit up and locked in perfectly. Looking back I have no clue which one we were messing with that we couldn’t get an AICS mag to fit…. Sorry about that, that was a head up ass moment.

I did get my hands on a MDT mag today from Eurooptic, and as you all said. It fits and feeds perfectly.

Maybe the hs precision bottom metal. Those had proprietary mags.
