I was curious to see what the factory screws could withstand before failing. Not sure if my screws just where terrible or they are really that weak! Broke the head right off at just under 65 inch pounds!

The upgraded screws maxed out the torque wrench so I grabbed a regular 1/4" ratchet and that just slips (bangs out to reverse lol). Ill bet with a 3/4" ratchet the bit would fail before the screw. If anyone has a torque wrench and a vise and are willing to break there action screws and let me know at what amount of inch pound setting I will send you a free set of upgraded screws! I'll take the first 3 that say they will do it.

i'll do it.

but not in the action, i'll stop by the hardware store and pick up a coupler nut in metric, put that in the vice, then run the bolts in it using a torque wrench. i'm experiencing some snow right now and have some other stuff to do around the house, will probably be able to get and do it sometime before monday night.

also i'm thinking of swapping out my AICS airsoft stock to a tacticool as that format is going more matchup to my new centerfire setup. would be interested in the BM too, i'll send a PM.

That's how I did it, 2 nuts in a vice with screw threaded into the nuts. I'm having reports of the factory screws and some after market ones breaking the heads off as low as 40 inch pounds! I still need 2 more takers on this!!!

Just busted another factory screw and it failed at 55 inch pounds. The head yet again came right off. I'm noticing while the heads are cone shaped its not very deep and with the Torx head slot it doesn't leave much metal between the shaft of the screw and head which is most likely why they fail so easy.

Well no wonder ya' wrung it off, y'er twice the "new" factory spec!
