Might not be plinking ammo for the poors, butbya know, keep a mag on ya and shoot a few to know they work. Is $5 a pop worth your life?
If this penetrated plates it would be more interesting. Especially ar500, cause the bangers who wouldnwear armor would be wearing the cheap stuff.

Liberty 9mm Civil Defense uses a 50gr copper bullet that will do the same thing to soft body armor.
If it went through a piece of AR5000, I'd be really impressed. Getting enough velocity out of a 9mm to do that, is a whole different story.

Man-portable railguns capable of 5000+ FPS with steel bolts and flechettes will be the next revolutionary development in multi-armor penetration. And most likely it might come from the civilian populations in countries where conventional guns are heavily restricted like in China, but components like batteries, capacitors, etc., are very easily accessible, and the population being kept under a tight enough totalitarian yoke that a certain percentage is trying to actively resist...

I do not like plastic sabots because I have never seen any that are accurate.
AP is nice stuff especially the newer AP rounds but unfortunately no way to legally buy, own or build it... (Please note I am an Austrian) But it's nice to look up at the stars sometimes.
