Troops (starts at 8:00 am sharp- 7:30 am rules brief):
$50 Entry Fee cash only paid at event, limited to 32 shooters.
Troops may have gotten its name from some of earliest Oklahoma field matches started back in the early 2000's, but it is one the most original skills we all practice at long range. A walk out distance shoot that challenges the shooter to know his rifle/scope, his ballistics and wind at each distance. All while keeping calm, understanding environmental changes and using any strategy available.
Course of Fire example
4 shooters per squad (each shooter may have a spotter helping)
Using a card draw, Squads will be drawn and Squad 1 will choose their selected shooting order (Shooting position can be from bench or ground).
Beginning left to right, shooter 1 will engage with 3 shots at the first designated distance and at the biggest target; shooter must hit big target to advance to small target, If the shooter hits big target with the 1st shot and small target with the 2nd shot, shooter may choose to shoot either of the targets for additional points.
Once Squad 1 shooters have completed shooting all sets of targets, scores will be tallied. And the Squad 2 will draw for order and get into position.
(actual yardage will be known on day of event):
400 yards - big target = 1pt., little target=2 pts. (3 shots total 5 pts. max)
500 yards- big target = 1pt., little target=2 pts. (3 shots total 5 pts. max)
635 yards- big target = 1pt., little target=2 pts. (3 shots total 5 pts. max)
700 yards- big target = 1pt., little target=2 pts. (3 shots total 5 pts. max)
770 yards-big target = 1pt., little target=2 pts. (3 shots total 5 pts. max)
800 yards- big target = 1pt., little target=2 pts. (3 shots total 5 pts. max)
900 yards- big target = 1pt., little target=2 pts. (3 shots total 5 pts. max)
21 shots total; 35 points MAX.
Any ties in the top 3 places will be broke by shoot off at furthest targets or as designated by MD.
This year we have some awesome trophies from Big Dog Steel and donated prizes.
This will also be 50% payback match to the top 3 places. 50-30-20%
SIDE EVENT #1 -Coyote Popshot (starts at 10:30 am to Noon)
Back by popular demand, Hit the Coyote Target 3 out of 3 times to win a $100 Raffle Ticket for a chance to win a 2021 Kubota RTV or other Grand Prizes.
Bring your Rifle $10 or shoot our house rifle $20.
3 shots only per attempt. Target will be at approximately 900 yards
SIDE EVENT #2- IBS Varmint Match (modified)
100 yard - 5 shot group (smallest group wins prize)
Groups are scored by measuring the distance between the centers of the two shots farthest apart on the target.
Sighter shots/targets available.

Rimfire Division
SIDE EVENT #3- Simulated Hunt
On the timer shooter finds and engages 3 animal targets at unknown ranges. (range finder provided) most hits with fastest time wins prize. 6 rounds total.
Other shotgun shooting events: 5 stand, Sporting Clays , Knockout , Longest Drive and closest to the hole contest.
