I would like some info as to what type of brand and power/Scope to put on a AR15 223 bushmaster predator 20" upper and will primarily be used for prairie dog hunting and coyote hunting as well as paper targets. Any help would be appreciated.

Check out the Bushnell Elite 6500 2.5-16x42, either in the Tactical, or covered knob flavor, your choice. I think it would make a great scope for hunting and target on a .223 AR. A friend of mine got one and it was nice enough for me to want to put one on my AR. The low end is perfect for hunting and the high end is more than enough to punch paper with your .223

nikon makes a scope i believe is called the coyote which is designed for predator hunting and long range shots with a 223. i'm sure theres much better scopes out there but this one isin't expensive and should be good for what your intentions are with it

May I suggest Larue SPR-E mounts for your scope? Otherwise it is likely that your objective will be too close to your eye. For me the SPR works well for medium scopes, but for the larger ones like 4.5-14 or 6.5-20, the SPR-E is a more comfortable setup.

Wow, that SPR looks nice. Ya know, I've got GG&G's duck bill rail on top of my AR10T which gives me about the same amount of forward adjustment but thinkin about it, by the time you get it and a quality set of rings you have about the same invested as you would in the SPR. What I've got is a very solid set up but if the LaRue holds well (which I expect it does), I think I might like it better.
Back on subject. JSqueeze, there are a lot of good optics to choose from these days for your AR. Give a ball park price you want to spend and I'm sure these people can give you some good ideas. Good luck.

What do you use for prairie dog hunting now? That's what I'd pick. The only caveat to an AR is smaller scopes look more appropriate. But what you choose depends on what you are shooting at. Prairie dogs are kind of small, so I'd suspect a little bigger, high-mag scope would be needed.
