Noob question. Just getting my feet wet building / modding a couple AR's. I ordered a new Superlative adjustable gas block for my 6.5 Grendel. It's going on the original 24" full bull barrel. No issues with that thus far. When trying to install the new handguard (the original one was a piece of shit) I ran into 2 problems.

    1. The barrel nut is maybe .020" narrow to ftt over the thick bull barrel. Should be a simple adjustment.
    2. The handguard clears the top of the gas block, but it's obvious it won't make it over the lower portion. The original gas block was non adjustable that came with the assembled upper.

Are there various "size options" for handguard clearances? I don't remember seeing any sort of technical dimension drawings when looking at handguards. Thanks in advance.

The standard inside clearance is about 1.7 inches so they'll clear 1.5" silencers. Tons of slim versions out there too at about 1.2" inside.

I've got a slim MI rail on one of mine with a sup arms adjustable block, the clamp on version. It hits the inside of the rail, just barely, so I dremeled out the inside of the rail like a true gunsmith. Haha.

I have had the same problem but really like the superlative gas block,I have gone to ar stoners hand guards they are slim but there is a channel built on mine at 12:00 and 6:00 that give you plenty of room.

Yeah. I think that's what I'm missing. The search continues.
