AR mounts for scopes

I have the Ruger SR-556 chambered in 6.8spc. I am looking for a good mount for a 1" scope. I found an awesome mount but they only make it for the 34mm and 30mm http://www.aadmount.com/

I am looking for something is tough and will hold zero without breaking the bank...what to you guys recommend..thanks

I got a Burris PEPR on my AR10, seems to be ok. I lapped the rings in any they were pretty much dead nutz. However, I did notice they were mfg'd in China (had a little sticker on the bottom). Had I have known that beforehand I would not have purchased them. Something about good ole US manufacturing I like.

I have heard people talking about lapping rings. what does that mean?

I like Larue tactical onepiece scope mounts. I use them on every rifle I have. They don't require torquing and are very accurate in my experience.
I have never lapped my scope rings. I just make sure that they and my scope are clean before installation.

I have a GG&G accucam and it works great. They also make a reducer so you can mount a 1" scope in 30mm rings.

I would check out the Badger mount with reducer rings~$140 you wont have to upgrade to a 30mm mount if you get a better scope either so it will be a bargin along with the quality. If I hadnt bought the NF unimounts and a superb KAC mount I would buy one of these. It will likely be on my next build.

I believe Armalite still sells a 1 piece mount with 1" or 30mm rings. Last I checked they were $90-100. Not QD or anything fancy but the one I had and sold to my buddy works just fine.

Badger 22moa rail and whatever rings gets your scope comfortably in front of your eyeball.

Check out American Defense as well. I have a couple of their mounts and they are outstanding. Very solid and have never had one loosen up. I have both the scout and the recon. IMO the second QD lever on the recon is just there for piece of mind. The scout is just as solid. IMO of course.

Then there is Dednutz they make a very nice mount for the AR, though not quick release, IIRC about $110.

I'm a larue fan as well I have 3 of the SPR mounts really good quality..
I was told if the rings are of good quality then you do not need to lap them. Checkout midway usa website I think they have a video on ring lapping.

Yes. We stock American Defense and Bobro in 1". We have our own non QD mount in 1" also.

2nd on the Badger Ordnance 22MOA base with the appropriate rings to mount your scope.
