Re: AR stock.

I finished this 6.5 Grendel build (pics below) not to long ago and the PRS works nice but it depends what your going to use it for.

Im starting another Grendel build (6.5 GDMR Clone build). They want $3,600.00 for one at Alexander Arms w/ no scope, mount or bi-pod. I figured I could build one thats less than half the price with the same parts. All I need is the barrel, Larue rail and gas block and its finished.

The bottom pic is the AA GDMR, When mine is finished it will look exactly like that one.
Sorry about tthe pics they were taken with my phone. Need to take some better ones soon. I upgraded the Harris bi-pod to a Atlas, Added a Accushot Uni-mount for the PRS, changed the Gill brake to a Smith ent. Vortex, added a FDE Magpul AFG Grip and swapped the Rock River trigger for a Geisselle SSA trigger. Like I said, I need to get some updated and better pics.

You asked if there is any other good stocks. Yes, there are many. Everybody has their own opinion on what they like. I like the PRS for bench and prone but I like the LMT Crane stock and Magpul CTR on my lighter AR's.

The 6.5 Grendel is a very good caliber and very accurate for a AR-platform. I love mine.

Re: AR stock.

There are a sh!t ton of good stock options out there, but for a precision AR...the best option is still the Magpul PRS. I run several of them on different setups and by far they give you the most adjustability, best fit/cheek weld, etc. The only downside with the PRS...if you can call it that...is the increased weight and bulk of the stock compared to others. It really isn't all that much more than other options, but if you are humping it around in the field hunting or whatever for extended periods of time, then you may notice the addt'l weight.

If you want to go with a more streamlined design, there is always the standard A2 stock with a nice cheek pad to give you the height you need for a proper cheek weld and eye position on your scope and an adjustable buttplate. Cheap...effective...lightweight.

If you want collapsible...I am a big fan of the VLTOR E-MOD stock and the Crane/LMT SOPMOD. I have been running an E-MOD on an AR-10 carbine and absolutely love it. That said...I don't know that it fills your role for a precision rifle stock all that well.

Re: AR stock.

I have the CCA 6 position stock on my grendel and like it alot. It has an adjustable cheek rest attachment you can buy to go onto the piccatiny rail that is on the stock. Very solid compared to other 6 position stocks, and it has a nice butt pad.

Re: AR stock.

i will be using the PRS for my next lower build, but i have nothing bad to say about my CAA SRS w/pod except that it is a bit spendy. MSRP is upwards of 400 but i got mine 18 months ago for around $280
I've heard some people say it has "play" or "wiggle" but mine is still rock solid after a year and a half and it is by no means a safe queen. Mine rides on my back hunting all the time. the best thing about mine is that with such a long barrel, i have trouble getting my rig to fit in my 50" drag bag...so i adjust the length of pull when she gets cased, when i shoot prone, and when i shoot bench.

Re: AR stock.

The PRS is awesome and will be my next purchase, I have had the standard A2 standard CAR and the Vltor Emod. I replaced the CAR with an MOE and liked it better, Personal preferance I guess. The Emod is currently on my AR 10 and is good, Can be a little low for proper cheek weld depending on you glass and rings. But otherwise a great stock
