Over the weekend I realized that it'd be handy to have a single tool to help pop the take down pins since they're pretty tight on my lowers and remove the hammer/trigger pins if/when I want to swap parts. I know there are already tools available that do this but one I found was $25 and I already had everything I needed to make one. A 1/2" piece of oak dowel rod, some delrin, some brass rod, and I was in business. The wire loops is mainly to keep the tool from rolling off.

Nice work, but I already have a small tool (real avid 4 in 1 Glock tool) that I always carry along with my pocket knife in my front left pocket. It gives me everything I need for my 1911s, Glocks or ARs. And best of all it is there every day.

Nice tools! Up until I made this tool I was making due with a wide range of things just like many others but I wanted a specific tool and I made one so I wasn't constantly improvising. The brass and delrin pieces are epoxied in.

I've made some other armorer's tools as well from the TM, nothing complicated, all of them were made with a drill press and hand tools.

As necessity is mother of invention, in finishing off 5 identical 22 ARC builds on V7 receivers with very tight fit, had to provide takedown tools for their new owners. Could not find the original one in center, so cobbled simple nylon pins from 5/16 x3.5 nylon hex bolts, tapered using Dremel tool, with short taper at point to keep pins from slipping off depression in V7 takedown pins. Shoulder to keep pins from driving through too far. Work like a champ, and cheap to boot.
