I guess that I will need a set of pins that are mechanically held in.
The rifle is a Bushmaster lower with RRA trigger group.

Will I need to ream the RRA parts to install the JP pins?

Are the KNS significantly better?

Re: Ar trigger pin walking out.

I have never had any pins run out of my ARs before. If they do, check to make sure that your keeper springs are all set in the correct places. They should hold themselves in place on their own.

The KNS pins sets are really to be used for fullauto type fire. I don't think they are really necessary on a semi. I did however buy a set of the KNS pins. I really like the KNS, and they look badass as well.

The KNS pins have an adapter that goes in the end of the pins to aid in installation. DO NOT REAM ANY PARTS... you are only going to make things worse. RRA and Bushmaster is all good stuff.

Re: Ar trigger pin walking out.

What z71rat said + the hammer spring 'tail' should rest on top of the groove that goes all the way around the trigger pin, the downward tension keeps it from walking out. If the tail needs a little more tension bend it a bit it dosen't need much.

Re: Ar trigger pin walking out.

I switched pins as I had newer ones on hand and we'll see if that fixes the issues.
The tail of the hammer spring was in the correct position.
The spring tension on the hammer spring does seem a bit weak so I may replace it.
Thanks

Yes either bend or replace that's the ONLY thing keeping it from walking out. Pretty straight forward diagnosis and fix.

Re: Ar trigger pin walking out.

The issue I think was when I replaced the generic Model 1 Sales trigger group with the RRA trigger I reused the M1S pins.
I think the RRA are slightly oversized.
Trigger time will tell.

Re: Ar trigger pin walking out.

Every instance of walking trigger pins that I've seen was a result of the hammer spring being installed backward. I highly doubt week spring pressure could result in the pins walking because the spring leg fits into a notch in the pin. Its possible, and normal, to have the pin stick out one side a little more than the other but that isn't the pin "walking" out.

This is the orientation of my trigger spring.

That is correct. </div></div>

Indeed. I'd replace the pins and hammer spring with new milspec parts.
