I have a new POF 308. The ejection port cover pin keeps moving towards the muzzle under recoil. It moves so far forward that the spring falls out and the door almost falls off. I see nothing but a small clip on the pin but it does nothing to prevent the pin from moving towards the muzzle. Is there anything that needs to be done to the pin to keep it from moving under recoil? Thanks

I know with the Armalite's and the 'T' version free float tube there is a longer port cover pin (only about 1/8" longer) that keeps it retained by hitting the barrel nut. Is the FF tube or barrel nut anywhere close to the end of the rod that a longer one would work?

The end of the pin is approx. 1/8" from the barrel nut. The barrel nut has grooves in it and the pin is sliding into the grooves as it moves towards the muzzle under recoil.

Definitely your problem, call Armalite and get the longer port pin... You'll have to remove the forend and barrel nut in order to install it though. If this is a new rifle directly from POF, they put the wrong pin in and you should call them about it.

If your rifle is anything like an A4/M4...your EJP Cover pin and c-clip are in backwards. Your pin should have its c-clip closer toward the FRONT of the rifle, not the rear...
