ar10 question

Re: ar10 question

Read this http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=62&t=378850 and this http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=121&t=413443 . There is no standardization among the 308 AR type rifles, so as LoneWolfUSMC stated, you have a lot of reading to do. To further compound issues, DPMS has at least two different heights to their LR-308 flat top receivers, one of which will not line up with after market free float forends. If you're serious about purchasing a 308 AR rifle, do some research first.

personally i have nooooo intrest in any AR junk thats me personally dont mean to start a flam war, i was just currious if one ar platform would be able to mix and match with others, things like bolts stocks forarms barrels triggers ect. i guess my brother was right.

i though they where like the ar15's where every thing mixed and matched

Re: ar10 question

As stated before. Some do and some don't. A big difference is in the lower receiver near the extension tube. They are shaped diffently so that you can't put a DPMS upped on an Armalite Lower. You can actually put an Armalite upper on a DPMS lower but there would be a gap and it would look stupid. All the add on stuff, Buttstocks, forarms,, bolts, and triggers all interchange.
