I am looking for a extended bolt catch release for a ar10. i would like one i could use with my right hand but any that are big enough i would be able to reach it while shooting prone comp. I have looked and found some for the smaller frame ar's but none for the large. If someone could please let me know asap I think this will help me alot.

Incase anyone else is looking for the same thing. I had a friend give me one for a ar15 and with alittle dremel tool work and some tapping was able to get it to work like a charm...

Yeah, and I invented 1-click shopping, as well as exhaling CO2-rich air to facilitate oxygenation of the blood prior to the next inhalation in the totally obvious, some would even say natural cycle of respiration. You can check out my description filed with patent office.

Crap, is my CAC a cheap counterfeit KAC ID card? Get your lawyers right on that before the market figures out who really leads the way in... well who really has lawyers.

Yes, I truly have zero respect for engineers or business owners that think real life is, or even should be, a game of "not it" with a patent office that rubber stamps the patently obvious. Awarded a patent or not, there is zero possibility for meaningful innovation in squeezing in a right-hand actuation of a pivoting piece of metal. Please show some respect to the rest of the mechanically non-retarded. Pretty much anything with a Y chromosome that didn't attend special education classes could've accomplished that, and even probably well in excess of 100K XX folks accross the globe too.

Check it out though, I'll bet you can find at least 100 new patents in this book just waiting for an application to be filed, just add "gun" in the description and you're probably covered money-wise for at least another 2 decades: http://www.amazon.com/507-Mechanical-Movements-Mechanisms-Devices/dp/0486443604

Archimedes would be very sad.

Pfft, nonsense. We're talking innovation, patented behavior of parts. It's intellectually heavyweight stuff. You can't just get up and do it completely off the cuff, using basic spacial reasoning, you infringer of ego!

Brilliant until you sling that bad boy.

out of curiosity which one of the many right hand bolt catch adapters did you mod?

Re: AR10 right side bolt catch release

To be honest I really don't know what kind it was. With what I ended up with was nothing more than flat bar with some holes frilled in it. I was just posting that I could let someone know in detail how to do it if they wanted.......I don't know what all this other BS is....I'm not trying to say I'm a inventor of any sort!!!!

Kev- Is that why there is no Magpul BAD for .308 rifles?

Re: AR10 right side bolt catch release

The only issue we have is when people blatantly copy our products.

Magpul could offer a BAD for .308 guns, it would not bother us, or have an issue with the patent.

The main point I was making is the POF gun with its right side bolt release, is a clone of ours.

LWRCI makes a ambo bolt catch/release that is their own design and frankly a better concept that ours (IMHO).

A short summary of the idea behind patents and IP, is that why should we or any other compnay spent time and effort designing and testing something, only to have the same thing copied by a company who did not need to spent the time and money?
It kills R&D work, if you cannot get paid back on your efforts.
