If it were me I'd lean more towards buying an action bar along with this kit that will do large and small uppers.

Well, an informed tip for you.
DO NOT get the Odin one.
It looks nice, it's heavy billet aluminum and anodized really well.
It works for shit, not worth tree fiddy in the real world.

I like the upper receiver rods from Midwest industries.
+1 for the Midwest Industries reaction rod. Its sail engages the charging handle slot so a sticky barrel nut can’t rotate the receiver and blow out the index pin slot.
Any quality gas block is made out of steel.
Soft metal or soft allory will erode at the port and cause problems
