1st question, what is the barrel profile that is like an "M4" cut without the 203 cut out. (Not talking about M4 feed ramps.)

2nd question, what are some pros / cons to having a regular front site tower on a flat-top using an EoTech vs. a low-pro gas block and a flip up front sight?

Reason im asking is I have a bull barrel 16" AR that im looking to change out to something a little lighter & better balanced.

I think that is a standard contour. For example, Rock River refers to their M4 style barrel as an R4 profile, as equipped on an "Entry tactical" upper assembly. A "CAR" upper would have a straight profile barrel at 16".

This is a matter of personal preference. There is some overlay with the reticle (65 MOA / 1 MOA dot) and A2 front post during normal aiming, which may be eliminated by using a folding front sight. Some shooters dislike this interference, others are not bothered. All in what your personal tastes are.
