AR15 .224 Brux Barrel finally tested VS Bartlien

Hard to get barrel, but finally got one in 20". Tested it versus a few barrels. I think its good.

The Brux shot 7/10 sub MOA 6 round groups and was very consistent. I got the Brux barrel from White Oak Armament. The Bartlien is from Compass Lake, and the Wilson Combat is from them. Tested with a variety of bullets, brass and powders to get a good idea of the overall performance. None of the loads were refined for any particular barrel, all loads were on a list I keep of loads that "tend" to be above average across many barrels. That N135 load of 22.7 seems to be excellent no matter what barrel I use, one of the very rare loads that doesn't care what barrel, but not absolutely. Another good load overall, across 10+ barrels is the FB Tipped 55 grain bullet and AA2230, 26.0 grains. All the ogives were dented too.

Brux expensive, but consistent and quality results, happy with that. I don't see the Brux listed anymore for barrel only, I waited many, many months to get that. I think I paid like $575 or something like that for it. While the Bartlien was like $750 because its fluted.

HI. Finding best load on each barrel takes a lot of time, when you have 30+ bullets and 20+ powders with 10 different types of new brass, etc. But I think I will "attempt" finding what you are talking about. my belief personally is, when you shoot 6 shots or more, and you can group around .6 inches with an AR, its very very diminishing returns to make it much better. I talked to a few older guys, who used Bartlien for 20+ years, and ya, its hard to pronouce. I tend to go with what you call Bart-Leen, or Bart LIN if you say it fast.
